Needed to run Nishansu

To run Nishansu, you need a system that meets our System Requirements. Further, you need our Library Files. Above all, it seems that you need the latest DirectX (but at least version 8) to run Nishansu.

Most errors are caused by missing Library Files. There are several ways to install these. The most common are to be found below. First try number 1, if this doesn't help, then number 2, etcetera.

Before you start, check if your system meets the system requirements

Quick Checklist (before asking, read this)

  • Does your system meet the System Requirements?
  • Have you installed the Library Files (see below for instructions)?
    1. Try the Library Files Installer
    2. Try the Windows VB6 Runtime Files
    3. Try the Library Files Zip
    4. Try older Library Files
  • Have you installed DirectX 8 (or above)?
  • Have you installed Windows Media Player 9 (or above)?
  • Have you updated your system as much as possible?
  • Does your Firewall allow Nishansu for in- and outcoming traffic (for connection problems)?
  • Is your problem listed on our Known Issues?
  • Have you tried Google?

1. Nishansu Library Files Installer
This method seems to work almost every time, so first try this before you try something else.

  • First login as an administrator. This is needed to register the runtime files.
  • Then you try to (re-)install Nishansu. In the setup you select Library Files. The setup for these files will get downloaded after clicking Install. When this is done, the setup will continue with the installation of Nishansu. After this, the downloaded setup will be started.
If the setup fails to do this:
Download the Library Files Installer seperatly and run it.
  • In this setup click Next to install the files. After copying these, you might get some errors. Ignore them.
  • After finishing all setups, try to run Nishansu.

2. Microsoft's fixes
The engine of Nishansu uses VB6. That way, Microsoft wants you to install some of their software. First, try updating your version of Windows. If you have restarted your computer several times and installed all updates, then you go to install the VB6 runtime files. And last but not least, Nishansu sometimes seems to work suddenly if you install the latest version of DirectX. Also Windows Media Player 9 seems to fix things sometimes.

3. Nishansu Client Auto-Installation (Zip File)
The Nishansu Client is able to register the files itselves if the files are located in the [Nishansu Directory]/Data/ directory. In order to let this work, you do the following:

  • Download the Library Files Zip File
  • Unpack the Zip File in the Nishansu Directory (so the Data directory goes to the Nishansu directory, you create the folder Data in the folder where Nishansu.exe is located)
  • Run Nishansu. You receive some errors. Everytime an error shows up, the Library File is installed.
    Alternative Zip Method:
You might unpack the files to your System32 folder and then register them one-by-one. You'd better don't replace any existing files. This is at your own risk.

4. Older engine Library Files
Some of our players tried everything, but nothing helped. They found out that the older runtime files from Nishansu sometimes do the thing.
- Download the Library Files of Nishansu 0.2-0.3
- Download the Library Files of Nishansu 0.1
The installation of the older Library Files is at your own risk.
