Ready to play So, you are happy that you have your character created? Well, that was the easiest. Things are only getting more difficult and you'll hardly reach the end of the game. But, we aren't the worst, so here are some tips for the newbies. Learn the controls To move around in Nishansu, you should familiarize yourself with the interface. Notice the Player Information Menu, which may come in handy: Here you'll see an overview of all your statistics et cetera. It's quite easy, and when your knowledge has been extended, you are ready to play! Controls and Commands Locate yourself The first thing you'll see when you've created your character, is the temple of your race. Each race has it's own temple, and it's the central building of the race. When you die, this is where you'll return to earth. And when your city is attacked, the temple is the only thing you need to defend. Furthermore, you are able to warp from here to another temple of your alignment. Start exploring your city and talking to other players. World of Nishansu Find a quest Quests are easy to do and will learn you to move around. To find a quest, you may have to talk to some players or NPC's. If you have done a quest (and earned some money or something like that), you can start another. Quests Learn a skill After you have gained some coins, you can learn a new skill. If you are a priest or mage, you might try herbloring to gather MP (and later on also HP) Potions. If you have chosen to be a archer or warrior, then you might give Fishing a try. You are only able to 'skill' when you are facing a place which is indicated with blinking dots and if you have the required Skill-Item (which can be bought in the Pharmacy or Blacksmith) equipped. Skills Talk to other players Make friends, bad times require good friends. Talk to potentional new friends, try to join a guild or party with someone. And remember, everyone of your race and alignment are your friends, and the other side are your enemies. Don't even think of killing your friends - that will result in bad times for you. Player Interaction, Guilds Buy weapons, spells, etc. Gaining levels is very important. You can go to a NPC to kill them, but those may require you to buy you inventory. According to your class, you may need a weapon or spell. Items Start leveling If you have done some of the quests in your neighboorhood and have bought inventory, it's time to gain levels. Levels are gained by killing NPC's. They give you experience when you kill them - and sometimes drop money, don't forget to pick that up with Enter. Try to kill only NPC's with your level. Just don't even try to kill a NPC of level 80, it's the same as walking into fire. And don't even try to kill another player, since your attack is worthless. NPC's Don't leave the grounds of your alignment Either you are member of the Empire or Alliance, you must be very stupid if you leave the grounds of your alignment as level 1. And don't ever enter a city of the enemy, since that's suicide. You better start within your city and the city borders. That's the savest. But leaving any city is dangerous, since you are not save. Ask a higher-level of your race for protection if you are unsure. Written by ralphje, last edited: 2007-08-15 21:21:42 |
